CREATIVE ADVOCACY

Nadharia’s Creative Advocacy Program leverages art, fashion, performance, and storytelling to sustain community-led care and strengthen collective wellbeing. Creative work has been central to Nadharia from the beginning, with initiatives such as Charm City Models using fashion shows and cultural events to resource the shelter while building confidence, visibility, and leadership within the community. This work has expanded from Nairobi to Kisumu and now includes drag shows and performance advocacy that create affirming spaces, challenge stigma, and mobilize support for Nadharia’s programs. Through platforms such as the Echoes of Resistance podcast and sustained social media engagement, Nadharia amplifies community voices, advances dialogue on mental health and justice, and extends its advocacy beyond physical spaces. Together, these creative approaches position art not as decoration, but as a strategic tool for sustainability, healing, and social change.
